Tonight’s Games To Watch – Quickie Previews/Predictions

Big East and Big Ten play continues tonight and even the MVC joins the party, as a solid slate of games will be worth keeping an eye on. Let’s take a look at some of them:
Northwestern (10-2) at Ohio State (12-1)
The Big Ten opener for both squads. The Buckeyes should roll.
Prediction: Ohio State 78, Northwestern 62
Villanova (7-5) at West Virginia (9-3)
Big East opener for both and a big test for struggling Nova.
Prediction: West Virginia 71, Villanova 63
Seton Hall (11-1) at Syracuse (13-0)
We’ll get to see how good the Pirates are in this Big East opener.
Prediction: Syracuse 89, Seton Hall 78
Georgetown (9-1) at Louisville (12-0)
Game of the night in another Big East opener, as the Cardinals look to stay undefeated.
Prediction: Georgetown 82, Louisville 79
Indiana (12-0) at Michigan State (10-2)
Another very solid match-up in the first Big Ten contest for both teams.
Prediction: Michigan State 74, Indiana 70
Missouri State (6-5) at Creighton (10-1)
Big time MVC start for the Bluejays and Bears.
Prediction: Creighton 83, Missouri State 74
New Mexico (9-2) at New Mexico State (7-4)
The Lobos lost at home to the Aggies in their season opener, but have been playing much better of late.
Prediction: New Mexico 73, New Mexico State 65
Mississippi State (12-1) at Baylor (11-0)
Great SEC/Big 12 match-up here, with two teams that we want to believe in, but just aren’t quite sure about yet.
Prediction: Baylor 80, Mississippi State 79
Connecticut (10-1) at South Florida (6-6)
Only because this is another Big East opener and because the Huskies will be without Jim Calhoun, who begins serving his 3-game league suspension.
Prediction: Connecticut 78, South Florida 67
Purdue (10-3) at Iowa (8-5)
Purdue opens the Big Ten in Iowa City. The Boilermakers will look to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Butler 11 days ago.
Prediction: Purdue 75, Iowa 62
