Today’s Games To Watch (Cont.): UNC Faces A Test In Tallahassee
By Jamal Murphy
Texas (12-4, 2-1) at #7 Missouri (15-1, 2-1) – 1PM ET, ESPN2
Mizzou’s only blemish this season was a double-digit loss at Kansas State, no easy place to play. They have also made a habit of completely destroying average teams like this year’s Texas squad. But, the Longhorns are showing small signs of improvement, so this game has a small chance of being competitive.
Prediction: Missouri 87, Texas 71
#4 North Carolina (15-2, 2-0) at Florida State (10-6, 1-1) – 2PM ET, ESPN
Carolina faces their first ACC test of the season today and their first test of any sort since their epic battle with Kentucky in early December. The Seminoles have been a disappointment so far this year, as their offense has been even more inept than expected. However, Leonard Hamilton still has them playing defense and they will be ready for the Tar Heels in Tallahassee.
Prediction: North Carolina 72, Florida State 70
Pittsburgh (11-6, 0-4) at #21 Marquette (13-4, 2-2) – 2PM ET, ESPNU
We all know the shocking Pitt saga: five straight losses, including a 62-39 home obliteration at the hands of Rutgers, yes Rutgers. It wouldn’t make sense for things to get any easier at Marquette. However, the Golden Eagles are only 3-4 since starting the season 10-0.
Prediction: Marquette 70, Pittsburgh 64
