Renardo Sidney Leaving Mississippi State After This Season?
By Blake Lovell
There are reports surfacing that Mississippi State junior forward Renardo Sidney may not return to Starkville for his senior season.
That’s probably not all that surprising to most, as Sidney has certainly had his struggles with the Bulldogs.
If this does turn out to be the case and Sidney in fact chooses to head elsewhere, the question then becomes where he winds up. He could decide to transfer or he could choose to enter into the NBA Draft.
Given everything that he’s went through with that team, it’s hard to see him transferring somewhere else for one year. If he wanted to do that, he probably would have a long time ago since weren’t exactly ideal for him for a while there.
But would the draft be a viable option for him? Here’s a tidbit from Adam Zagoria‘s story on ZagsBlog:
"When asked if he would be chosen in the 2012 NBA Draft, one veteran NBA scout said flatly, “No.”"
So if Sidney chooses to leave and has intentions on making it in the NBA, he’ll likely have to take an alternate route first to get his game to the level that it needs to be.
Of course, we won’t know his decision until after the season, so we’ll have to wait and see how things play out.
