Mark Lyons Will Transfer To Arizona
By Blake Lovell
After much speculation, we now know where former Xavier guard Mark Lyons will play next season.
Kentucky, Kansas, and Arizona were all in the mix for his services, and in the end, Sean Miller scored big after Lyons announced he would be heading to Arizona.
Admittedly, I predicted that Lyons would head to Lexington to join the outstanding group of talent that John Calipari has lined up for next year, but Arizona seemed to be the favorite all along.
Since Miller was the one that recruited Lyons while at Xavier, Lyons’ choice isn’t all that surprising.
The comfort level was obviously there for Lyons and again, when you survey the three possible choices, reuniting with Miller made the most sense for him.
The Pac-12 has been down quite a bit the last several years. And that’s putting it nicely.
But this is just another development that will turn the conference upside down next season and help bring it back to the power that it once was on the national level.
We all know about the excellent recruiting classes coming in at Arizona and UCLA, and now with Lyons heading to be a Wildcat, that makes the talent in the conference even better.
And it certainly makes Arizona a whole lot better.
