2013 three-star power forward Rodney Bullock has committed to the Providence Friars over offers from the Virginia Tech Hokies, the N.C. State Wolfpack, the Miami Hurricanes, and Massachusetts. DePaul, Virginia, and Maryland also showed interest in the top 225 recruit.

Bullock is a 6’7″, 205 pound PF from Hampton, Virginia and is one of the top 15 recruits in the state. A terrific rebounder, Bullock is a standout at Kecoughtan High and is one of the top 50 power forwards in the 2013 class. He is an athletically gifted forward who can play at the 3 and 4 and is a high-energy player with very good shooting range.

The best attribute that the new Friars commit possesses is his ability to rebound, which is the main reason why he clearly projects better at the power forward position. Bullock’s poor handling is also a reason for him being better off at the 4, but there are some who believe that he needs to bulk up in order to more effectively play at PF.

Providence has landed their first prospect in the 2013 class, and they have a solid three-star in Bullock who can help them continue to compete in the Big East. The Friars and USF Bulls both added quality big men in this class yesterday, with Providence being able to add a three-star over a few major ACC offers.
