Vanderbilt Commodores hosting Schuyler Rimmer
The Vanderbilt Commodores are one of the four teams in the battle to land solid three-star power forward Schuyler Rimmer, and he is on an official visit to the SEC school today. Vandy is the last official stop for Rimmer, who has already visited the USC Trojans, Stanford Cardinal, and Virginia Cavaliers. All three of those schools, with the exception of USC, were visited by Rimmer in the month of October.

In fact, he visited USC four days after decommitting from the Florida Gators; a school he was committed to for about a month and a half. His recruitment has really picked up since, and he would be a solid addition for any one of those four schools.
One of the top 200 recruits in the class, the Boone High standout is an extremely tough player on the inside who is a great defensive player and a solid rebounder. Rimmer has nice range as a scorer but gets most of his points near the rim. Even though the 6’9″, 230 pound PF lacks high shot-blocking stats or big numbers, he is one of the top 50 power forwards in the country and right in the top 15 among recruits in the state of Florida.
Vanderbilt is looking for another recruit in the 2013 class to pair with top 100, four-star PF Damian Jones who committed to the school last month. Schuyler Rimmer is one of the toughest recruits in the entire 2013 class, and he can immediately change the presence of a team’s interior when on the court. He averaged a solid 16-13 for Boone this past season, so Vandy will hope to give Rimmer a great visit.
Virginia has two four-star point guard commits, so adding Rimmer would give them a nice blend of recruits. In fact, both USC and Stanford also have all guard commits (two SGs for Stanford, two PGs and an SG for USC) in the 2013 class.
