Mississippi Valley State Head Coach Chico Potts Reinstated
As of today, July 23, 2013, Chico Potts has been reinstated as head coach of the Mississipi Valley State Delta Devils, according to reports. The domestic violence charges he received from an arrest earlier in July have been dropped after he had been found not guilty of the allegations. University officials had him suspended indefinitely with pay, having assistant coach Marcus Thomas replace Potts until the investigation was to be completed. After Sean Woods, MVSU’s previous head coach, left to coach Morehead State after the 2012 NCAA Tournament, Chico Potts stepped in as head coach, only to guide the Delta Devils to a 5-23 losing season (5-13 against SWAC).
