Marquette Adds 2014 Guard Sandy Cohen
According to ESPN’s Reggie Rankin, Sandy Cohen the 18th ranked shooting guard in the class of 2014 has committed to Marquette. Over the course of the last year, Cohen has seen his stock rise drastically as he has impressed scouts at almost every outing and has kept showing developments to his game.
During his junior year, he averaged 16.6 points and an impressive 7.2 rebound from the shooting guard spot. Cohen has a great leaping ability, works extremely hard and does anything that is asked of him in order to get his team the win. Offensively, he can do a little bit of everything and displays a really smooth jumpshot that should help his transition into the NCAA.
For Marquette, if Cohen keeps improving at the rate he has been, this could be one of the biggest steals of his recruiting class. While he may never be the high scoring guard that leads the nation, Cohen is the type of player every team needs to be successful. He checks his ego at the door, does his job and does it well. For a team like the Golden Eagles that fight to stay with the big dogs every year, getting a potential jack of all trades this early is a great victory.
Cohen himself tweeted that he was committed to Marquette and sounds really excited. Here is a highlight package of the young guard, courtesy of Youtube.
