Abu Visits With Two Schools

The 2014 Power Forward Abdul-Malik Abu has been quite busy over the weekend. He had official visits at both Providence and NC State and is scheduled to visit UConn on Wednesday. That will leave only Florida to visit on his final list of schools.

Both Abu and Expressions Elite teammate Jared Terrell are expected to announce their decision some time in September in a joint presser. That has generated a lot of talk that the AAU teammates will play together in the NCAA. The only school they have in common on their final lists is the Providence Friars.

For the Friars, getting a big man like Abu would be a huge boost to the team. He has height at 6″8 and is already quite skilled down low. Truth be told, he will make any team he joins better instantly. If Terrell also comes with him, it would make Providence a much scarier team in the new Big East conference, which has been weakened due to re-alignment.

There is so far no news on when Abu will visit Florida but once he has seen all four campuses, he should be ready to make a decision. So far, his camp has been very good at not revealing any information that could lead to an early guess as to where Abu is going, At this time, he really could be going to any of the final four schools on his list. A lot of people are thinking Providence because of the Terrell factor but that is all just a rumor.
