It has been officially stated by the NCAA that 6ft 5in forward Vincent Garrett, whom he last played for Rutgers University, is now cleared and eligible to play for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay this upcoming basketball season. Garrett made a statement near the conclusion of last season that he was going to transfer from Rutgers to Green Bay in order to find more playing time. When then-head coach Mike Rice brought in two new junior forward recruits at the start of the season, Garrett sensed his very minuscule playing time (averaged 4.0 minutes in his only season with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights) would only decrease. Garrett was supposed to be an offensive spark coming off the bench, but failed to fully understand the offensive system and its plays. Vincent Garrett only averaged 1.5 points, 0.8 rebounds, and only played in 12 of the Scarlet Knights 31 games. Garrett hopes he can make a contribution to his new squad and log in some good, productive minutes for the Green Bay Phoenix this coming season.
