A match-up of two ranked teams will highlight Friday’s college hoops action. The Iowa Hawkeyes will travel within the state to take on their rivals, the Iowa State Cyclones.

Iowa is one of the nation’s best offensive teams. In addition, head coach Fran McCaffery has the luxury of having perhaps the deepest bench of any team at the college level. McCaffery has ten players that average over 15 minutes per game, and nearly half of their points come from the reseves.

Despite Iowa’s depth, State’s offense is actually ranked better, good for second in the nation. While their rotation doesn’t go much further than seven players, they have four players averaging over 12 points per game and seven averaging at least seven points.

Scoring isn’t the only thing that these two teams excel at, however. Both Iowa and Iowa state are two of the top rebounding teams in the nation.

Should you be watching?

Absolutely. This game is going to be up-tempo and every bit of entertaining. Tons of points will be scored at a fast pace, and offense won’t be the only thing on display. Iowa and Iowa State are bitter rivals, meaning that passion, blood, sweat, and tears will certainly be shown. More than likely, this will be the ultimate example of what college hoops is all about.
