The Memphis Tigers probably don’t get the attention they deserve. It could be because they play in Memphis (as in not a HUGE market), the perception of what Josh Pastner does with his teams in the NCAA Tournament (the perception is wrong) or maybe it is just because they aren’t as flashy as some other programs.

Wait, did you say something about flashy? Well, Joe Jackson knows a little something about going all flashy on us:

(H/T to CBT for bringing the video to our attention and no one for caring we are VERY late with this)

BAM! Or something, but whatevs.

That was Jackson helping the Tigers beat USF in the first game of their in-conference schedule. You know, The American or the AAC or the Mike Aresco Ruined the Old Big East Conference Conference — really, whatever you prefer to call it. Either way, Memphis ended up winning the game 88-73.

Jackson is only 6’1″, so that dunk is even more impressive than you think.

At the end of the day that dunk is just fun. Memphis is expected to compete for the AAC (I prefer the MAROBECC myself) crown this season. With only the Kevin Ollie Mustaches in their way there is a more than solid chance that the Tigers end up being the conference’s first regular season champion.

Really, though, who knows. There is a ton of hoops left to be played and no one should ever count out the Mustaches.
