Iowa Coach Fran McCaffery Goes Nuts (Again), Bumps a Referee, and Gets Ejected

Iowa Hawkeyes coach Fran McCaffery is a man who has been known to have his fair share of outbursts over his career with Iowa. Tonight, however, marked a new low for McCaffery.

No. 22 Iowa went into Wisconsin tonight looking to upset the number four-ranked team in the nation, as well as one of the last unbeaten teams.  After beating Wisconsin by 11 at halftime, Iowa began giving up the lead in the second half, making McCaffery angry enough.   After some questionable calls by referees, McCaffery completely lost his mind, erupting in a spit of rage.  While this was going on, he bumped up against a referee and was ejected.  Look for McCaffery to be sitting out a game or two after this.

For those who don’t remember, McCaffery channeled his Big Ten predecessor Bob Knight 2 years ago, slamming a chair on the court.

So yeah, Fran McCaffery goes off the deep end from time to time. .
