Worst “power” conference?

JN: If we are considering the Big East a power conference still, then them. I will also add, though, that they should still be considered one for the next year or two. If they don’t start to pick up their game, have more teams ranked in the top 25 and make runs in the tournament, it could be one notch down for them.
BLW: I’m not sure who still counts as a “power” conference at this point. I love the Big East, but if they still count then I will have to go with them. The ACC still has Syracuse to carry the banner this season, and they are deeper from top to bottom.
JM: I’m not quite sure that they’re a power conference anymore but I have to pick the Big (L)East here, which breaks my soul as a New Yorker. I mean, Creighton and Villanova are the top 2 teams in the conference, and I can’t see either of those two teams making a real run at anything this year. No shade to either of them – or other prestigious programs like Xavier and (yawwwwn) Providence – but I’m not buying “Adam Morrison 2.0” McDermott being good enough to beat the better defensive teams in the country, and Creighton is going to do work in their conference this season. Georgetown and Marquette are having down seasons, Butler doesn’t look as up-and-coming anymore without Brad Stevens, and dammit St. John’s I’m done believing in you!
