Hey, college basketball fans. It is me. You know, your good ole pal The Wooden Award. It is currently Wednesday, January 1st. Guess what that means? Yup, you guessed correctly. We have announced our list for the Wooden Award. An award, mind you, that goes to the best player in the nation.

Okay. So enough of pretending to be an object that can’t actually talk. Although, he (it?) did make some pretty good points.

The Wooden Award did actually release their top-25 players for the award, though. So let’s take a look who made the cut.

(H/T to CBT for the list)

  • Kyle Anderson, UCLA
  • Keith Appling, Michigan State
  • Cameron Bairstow, New Mexico
  • Jordan Clarkson, Missouri
  • Aaron Craft, Ohio State
  • Sam Dekker, Wisconsin
  • Cleanthony Early, Wichita State
  • Tyler Ennis, Syracuse
  • C.J. Fair, Syracuse
  • Aaron Gordon, Arizona
  • Rodney Hood, Duke
  • Nick Johnson, Arizona
  • DeAndre Kane, Iowa State
  • Doug McDermott, Creighton
  • Shabazz Napier, Connecticut
  • Jabari Parker, Duke
  • Adreian Payne, Michigan State
  • Casey Prather, Florida
  • Julius Randle, Kentucky
  • Marcus Smart, Oklahoma State
  • Russ Smith, Louisville
  • T.J. Warren, North Carolina State
  • Andrew Wiggins, Kansas
  • Chaz Williams, Massachusetts
  • Joseph Young, Oregon

A pretty interesting list if I do say so myself. There are obviously some names on that list that could be replaced by others, but no need to worry about that. This isn’t a list of finalists in a true sense of the word. Names can be added or taken out before it is all said and done.
