Oklahoma State Cowboys guard Stevie Clark might not be a household name to casual basketball fans, but his off the court transgressions are going to make him a cautionary tale if he doesn’t change some things quickly.
Travis Ford has already had the unfortunate opportunity to attempt to nip Clark’s behavior in the rear, but a four-game suspension from earlier in the year has apparently not worked out that well.
A talented roleplayer, Clark was previously suspended from the team in January after being arrested and charged for possession of marijuana.
The hits keep on coming, though. Reportedly on Sunday, Stevie Clark was arrested and charged with outraging public decency. According to the report, police received complaints about a man urinating out of a car window.
Clark spent a few hours in the pokey before he was released after a bond was posted for him.
This is obviously a huge loss (assuming he gets suspended, again) for Oklahoma State, but the bigger issue is getting Clark the help that he needs to correct his path in life. One mistake happens to everyone, but a second one in this short of a time frame seems like a trend in the wrong direction.
Let’s hope Clark’s life is a higher priority to everyone instead of basketball. Including Stevie Clark himself.
