Oklahoma State Cowboys guard, Marcus Smart, is in the midst of a building one of the greatest flopping related reputations in all of college basketball. Which isn’t too horrible. It might make the games he is involved in hard to watch and whatnot, but it’s not anything so diabolical that the Earth will cease to rotate on its axis in a proper fashion.
Jeff Goodman (again, not John!) recently spoke to Smart about the flopping. And, well, we get the kind of response we usually get from our five-year-old child.
"“I’ve probably built up a little reputation, and I’m not questioning that,” Smart said after the Cowboys’ latest loss — at home in triple overtime Monday to Iowa State — the team’s fourth defeat in its past five contests. “But I’m not the only one flopping. Every team and every player does it to make sure you get the call."
So Marcus Smart flops because all the cool kids do it? I kid, kinda.
Here are some other things Marcus Smart must do because everyone else does it.
- Smokes
- Jumps off bridges
- Eats unhealthy
- Shoots walruses in the face for sport
- Throws rocks at infants
- Makes too many (mostly unfunny) memes involving cats
- Has an opinion on the Winter Olympics
- Sings in the shower
- Eats brown sugar cinnamon Pop Tarts
- Once devoured a homeless person because life is hard
Clearly, all of that is meant to be taken with your tongue firmly implanted in your cheek. Which reminds me…
- Implants tongue inside his cheek
