The Villanova Wildcats went into the Dunkin’ Donuts Center last night and came away with a hard-fought victory. Really, it was a combination of things that kept Nova from being able to put the Providence Friars away, but eventually all it took was a Ryan Arcidiacono lay-up in double-overtime to seal the deal. No big thang.

Ryan Alotofvowelo (pending TM) also got fouled there. Nova ended up winning the game 82-79.
This is a big win for Villanova and a bad loss for Providence. Oddly enough, the Wildcats winning also happened to be a good thing for the St. John’s Red Storm, as they face Nova on Saturday in a game that could really help the Johnnies make the NCAA Tournament.
As for Ryan Arcidiacono, this is kind of his thing. I mean he did attempt the same exact shot in the very first overtime. He also has a habit of making these types of shots more often than my uncle changes his underwear (tmi? IDC!).
There is really only one thing left for the Wildcats to do before we all pick against them in the NCAA Tournament and assume they lose to a 14 seed — make Ryan Alotofvowelo stick as a nickname.
I’m not begging, but please?
