Remember when the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles were cooler than a cucumber on the opposite side of the pillow? Of course you do. However, did you also know that they haven’t really gone away? I mean they are tied for first place in the Atlantic Sun and still do their high-flying act every now and then. And when I say every now and then, I mean like all the time.
Like, um, Bernard Thompson doing Bernard Thompson like things and whatnot.
The slam was from yesterday (sorry for the delay). Also, as the score suggests in the gif, Florida Gulf Coast ran away with this one, 92-72.
Thompson finished the game with 14 points and a beastly 11 boards. It is likely his put-back slam, though, that will keep him fresh in your cranium for the rest of the day.
The Atlantic Sun isn’t exactly known as a multiple bid league. So if you are a really big fan of Dunk City, I suggest you continue to follow them as well as the Atlantic Sun Tournament to see if they will go dancing in March.
It is worth noting that Mercer is the team FGCU is tied with for the regular season lead. They, however, don’t have a neat gif for me to attach to a post — so no post for them.
