Keith Smart with the Dagger

Indiana Hooisers then head coach, Bob Knight, really hated the three-point line and transfers. Heck, he still hates the fact that some shots are worth more than others now. Oddly enough, though, the one of the biggest moments in his coaching career happened because both things were around.

Keith Smart was a ho-hum prospect coming out of high school. In fact, the fact that he eventually made it to the NBA might be one of the more astonishing things to ever happen. Even with making it to the NBA, though, Smart’s most well-known for one single thing, The Shot.

Outside of the fact that “Nobody stopped the clock! Nobody stopped the clock!” might be what jumps out at you, Smart’s jumper was as tough as it was clutch.

Lost in history was the fact that Smart wasn’t only responsible for The Shot, but actually scored 12 of Indian’s final 15 points. It also resulted in the program’s fifth National Title.
