After the Kansas Jayhawks beat up on the Kansas State Wildcats by 26 points on January 11th, it was assumed that the rematch on February 10th was not going to be much of a contest. However, standout freshman, Marcus Foster, had a magnificent game as he led his team to overtime victory over the number seven ranked (at the time) Jayhawks.
In 36 minutes Foster scored 20 points to lead all scorers on five of ten shooting, including four of five from beyond the arc. The Wildcats led by nine with 1:53 remaining in the game, but the Jayhawks stormed back including an Andrew Wiggins put back with seven seconds left to force overtime. The resiliency of the Wildcats showed as they overcame the collapse in regulation and still win in overtime. Plus, it always feels a little bit better when you beat an instate rival like Kansas.
