For every strange, possibly diabolical snub (sorry, SMU), there sometimes happens to be a pleasant surprise while Selection Sunday unfolds and NCAA Tournament teams are announced. One of this year’s biggest (and most awesome) being the Nebraska Cornhuskers going dancing!
If you visit Busting Brackets on the regular, then you already know we have a soft spot in our hearts for this team. We absolutely adore Tim Miles, think Terran Petteway is one of the most under-appreciated players in the entire nation, and honestly think this is a program on the rise.
But we’re not done with our unbridled love of Nebraska hoops. No, sir. We also love their
first
second-round game against Baylor (we might not be as positive about their potential next round opponent).
Here is what I am trying to say. Watch them against Baylor. Call off work, ignore your spouse, send your kids to daycare, just do whatever you have to do to watch them play. I promise you won’t regret it.
We are only a few hours removed from Selection Sunday telling us who is going to go dancing, and we (meaning me) are already convinced that the Cornhuskers are the early favorites to wear a pair of dancing slippers and play the role of that adorable — and possible gold digger — Cinderella.
Get some, Nebraska fans.
