It seems like for every Dayton and Harvard moment, the 2014 NCAA Tournament is going to hurl a game of destruction towards our general direction. First it was Wisconsin, then it was Pittsburgh and now it is the Syracuse Orange making pancakes out of Western Michigan — and they’re only delicious if you’re an Orange fan.
This game was never in doubt. Well, maybe it was in doubt before Syracuse got to the arena, but the moment they made it safe, Western Michigan could have just went home.
Four Syracuse players ended the game in double-figures. While you can say it was a team effort, I am not too sure the team really needed any effort at all. At the end of all the blood, guts and possible pending manslaughter charges, Syracuse routed Western Michigan, 71-53.
Backhanded slap towards Western Michigan? No. More of the obvious discrepancy in talent being highlighted in this game. No knock on WMU. Okay, maybe a little knock.
