In what will be considered officially official tomorrow via a presser, Nicole Auerbach of USA TODAY Sports is reporting that it is a done deal. The ACC Tournament will be headed to Brooklyn for the 2017-18 season.

So many different things to talk about here, but the underlying fact is that conference realignment has not only reshaped programs going to certain leagues, it has destroyed some part of history. As in the history of the ACC Tournament.

Not that going to the Barclays Center is a horrible move, but for a conference that is predominantly from the south, it is still a bit strange for all of this to be happening.

Why is it happening? Money grab, of course. And really, it is hard to blame the ACC from doing such things. Still, it doesn’t make it any easier to take in.

The move will also kick the Atlantic 10 out of the Barclays for a short period of time. Reportedly, they are looking to play their postseason conference tournament in the Washington, D.C area. Pittsburgh is also being considered.

The ACC is expected to make the news official with a press conference on Wednesday.
