The mean streets of secondhand news is especially dangerous on April Fool’s day. However, this is about as legitimate as a five dollar bill. According to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman (not our beloved John Goodman. Who has multiple reports today as well: here and here), the Marquette Golden Eagles have hired Duke Blue Devils assistant head coach Steve Wojciechowski.

Don’t believe me. Here is the tweet:

Steve Wojciechowski is only 37, but brings a pretty solid experience and background with him to a Marquette team who has finally replaced Buzz Williams.

Wojo — outside of being known for the Wojo floor slap — played for the Blue Devils between 1994-98 and was an assistant under Mike Krzyzewski since 1999.

This is not only big news for Marquette, but the Big East Conference as a whole as well. Whether or not Steve Wojciechowski ends up being all that and a bag of chips, he at the very least brings a big name to the table.
