Chane Behanan transferred to the Colorado State Rams from the Louisville Cardinals, assumingly, in the hopes that he could outrun whatever troubles that may have been lingering in his past. Unfortunately, though, it seems like no matter which program he plans on calling home will help turn some troubling issues of his around.

According to several reports, Behanan was allegedly cited for marijuana possession this morning in Louisville.

This is bad on many different levels. First, and least importantly, this might end his college basketball career. It is unlikely Colorado State will want to take in a player who has not only admitted to drug use before, but clearly hasn’t learned from his previous issues while with the Cardinals.

Much more importantly, this is becoming a trend in Behanan’s life. Before this we could have made excuses for him, maybe blaming being in a high-anxiety situation or some other form of fake excuse. Now it is clear that Behanan needs help.

He has already been working with John Lucas to get his life turned around. Hopefully Chane Behanan admits he needs help, then wants it, and finally gets the right kind.

This story is no longer a college basketball issue, but a person’s health, future issue. We wish him the best and hope his future is still as bright as everyone once thought it was.
