Xavier Pollard led Maine in scoring last season with 14.7 points per game. You would think that would be enough to keep the junior happy, right? Well, maybe he was happy but he wants to finish his career elsewhere.

On Tuesday, Pollard announced that he is leaving the school and transferring to another to end an under-the-radar career.

Ted Woodward, Maine’s head coach, has granted Pollard his release and in a statement wished him the best in his future endeavors — WWE style (but with more sincerity).

Xavier Pollard is no slouch. Not only did he lead his team in points and finish second in rebounding, but he ended up being selected as an American East third team member.

Pollard is not the only Black Bear to be departing the program. He joins the already gone Dimitry Akanda-Coronel and Mitch Worcester, who left the program a little over a week ago.

Thanks to NCAA transfer rules, Pollard will have to sit out one year before he is eligible to play. After that, though, he will have one season remaining before his college career is over.
