Montrezl Harrell doesn’t have time for reporters breaking news about him. That’s why the Louisville Cardinals standout, and assumed 2014 first-round NBA Draft pick, took to the mean streets of Twitter to make a pretty surprising announcement.
Outside of that painting being all that and a bag of chips, this is huge news for the Cardinals.
Harrell averaged 14.0 points and 8.4 rebounds last season. He was only a sophomore. Meaning, if my mathematical skills are correct, he is going to be a junior next season.
This also means that Louisville will be a much better team next year. Many, already, assumed that the Cardinals were going to have a huge drop in success for next year. With Montrezl Harrell staying, it obviously changes that narrative in a huge way.
It is interesting for him to come back, though. Out of the billion players who actually think they are first-round talents, but aren’t, Harrell was certainly a guy most people had going while the guaranteed money of the NBA was still flowing.
