Duke Blue Devils freshman, Jabari Parker, took a minute to decide what he wanted to do. However, while making the biggest decision of his life, it makes perfect sense that the potential top-three pick in the upcoming NBA Draft wanted to take his time.
Now, though, it is officially official. Jabari Parker will toss his remaining college eligibility to the wayside, he will pass go, he will collect (way more) than 200 dollars, and is a real life prospect for the 2014 NBA Draft. So, um, yeah, he just declared.
Parker, who is considered a “thinker”, co-wrote a piece on SI today about his decision to leave for the NBA.
In it, Parker describes the struggles of making such a huge decision. All of the trials and tribulations of that decision, though, were not so different than ones we already assumed he was dealing with. Still, you should definitely check out that Sports Illustrated piece to get a better grip on why he is bolting to play basketball for money — as opposed to, you know, free.
Jabari Parker is widely considered to be a top-three, if not the very top, pick in the upcoming draft.
