The St. John’s Red Storm have had a pretty interesting offseason. Really, their offseason of confusion could be highlighted by Chris Obekpa leaving the program to, you know, only come back a week later. Now, however, the Red Storm have gotten some good news as junior college’s best rebounder, Keith Thomas, has committed to play for the Johnnies and head coach Steve Lavin.

Thomas averaged 15.3 points and 15.7 rebounds (led junior college in that category) per game last season at Westchester Community College (New York).

Keith Thomas joins the program with at least two years of eligibility left. If things go right, though, he can be granted a third year at the Division I level.

With JaKarr Sampson leaving the program to become an NBA D-League superhero, the Red Storm really needed some help for their front-court. With Obekpa returning, Thomas and big man Adonis Delarosa now committed to play for the program, the Johnnies’ roster is rounding out relatively nicely.

Then again, we say that nearly every offseason about St. John’s.

Keith Thomas is not a completely known commodity to most casual fans (or even hardcore ones), but this tweet pretty much sums him up.

So, there’s that too?
