Purdue lands 2015 recruit Ryan Cline

Who is a three-star, sharpshooting, 6’4″, 2015 college basketball recruiting prospect? If you guessed “a bunch of guys”, then you are correct. However, we are talking about a specific 2015 player. A 6’4″ shooting guard from and son of a former Ohio State captain. Well, if you guessed Ryan Cline — ding.

Cline, via the mean streets of Twitter, has announced that he has committed to play for the Purdue Boilermakers.

According to Rivals, Ryan Cline is rated as a three-star prospect, whose best attributes are his abilities to put the ball in the bucket by way of hurling the ball towards the general direction of the rim (also known as a jump shot).

Despite being a pretty renowned shooter, Cline only shot 36 percent from the field in the adidas Gauntlet with Indiana Elite. Although, it is worth noting that he did do extremely well from distance (41 percent) and the charity stripe (91 percent).

As alluded to earlier, Ryan Cline is the son of former Ohio State player, Mike Cline, who was a two-time captain for the Buckeyes.

Regardless, Cline adds a good perimeter shooter to a Purdue team who only shot 31 percent from beyond the arc last season. When, or if, he makes an impact immediately is yet to be seen, but hooray offseason recruiting.
