It is still puzzling as to why Buzz Williams left Marquette for the Virginia Tech Hokies, but regardless of reason the well dressed coach has been quickly scoring some solid commits on the recruiting trail. His latest being a junior college forward, Shane Henry.
The report was broken by this guy via Twitter because Twitter reports don’t stop (get it?):
2014 F Shane Henry (6-8, Georgia Perimeter College) has committed to Virginia Tech, source told @CBSSports. Good get for Buzz Williams.

Shane Henry was fifth in JuCo basketball last season in rebounding and second in blocked shots per game. He averaged 13.2 points (while shooting over .51 percent from the field), 12.2 rebounds and 4.7 blocked shots per game.
So, in Williams’ short first offseason with Virginia Tech he has already scooped up Ahmed Hill, Justin Bibbs and Jalen Hudsonand Satchel Pierce as normal recruits as well as transfers Seth Allen and Zach LeDay. Not too bad for a guy who went to a supposedly lesser program.
Standing 6’8″, Shane Henry should at least add some much needed depth to Virginia Tech’s frontcourt. If he is anywhere near the player his JuCo stats suggest he might be, maybe Henry could be an even bigger asset.
