6. Boston Celtics — Noah Vonleh, PF, Indiana
H: 6′ 9″ W: 247 lbs DOB: 08/24/1995
2013-14 NCAA (30 GP) 11.3 PPG 9.0 RPG 0.6 APG 22.8 PER
This is a tough one. Not only does it constantly sound like Boston wants to trade out of this pick, but rumors have started to swirl that Noah Vonleh has shown up to practices out of shape and disinterested in working out — apparently so much so that it made scouts and GMs furious with the former Indiana big.
However, people love themselves some talented bigs, which Vonleh certainly is. If Boston keeps the pick and this is what the draft looks like at this point, the Celtics will have a choice between a few guys, but with Julius Randle’s foot a mystery, Vonleh seems like a logical choice for Danny Ainge.
An interesting thing to keep an eye on, though, is if any Doug McDermott to Boston talk starts to heat up as we get closer to the draft. As inappropriate as it sounds, it’s not lost on anyone that the city of Boston would love to have a possible white superstar on their squad. — Joe
