2015 four-star prospect Daniel Giddens commits to Ohio State

2015 four-star center prospect Daniel Giddens has finally decided on his college destination. According to several outlets, the talented big man is going to play college basketball for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

This announcement is neat for plenty of reasons, all of them not directly related to college hoops. Daniel Giddens was actually born on Independence Day. Meaning, not only did he make the biggest decision of his life — up until this point — Daniel Giddens is as American as gosh slam apple pie and the slowest game in the history of slow games, baseball.

More from Big Ten

Giddens is the 37th ranked 2015 prospect according to Rivals while ESPN has him pegged at 55. For what it is worth, he did not rank on Busting Brackets’ Top Hot 50. Granted, we don’t exactly (yet!) have the track record of one of the foremost recruiting websites, so there’s that to take into consideration.

Many expect Giddens to be a player who contributes right off the bat. Now, while the Buckeyes will be losing a lot of talent after the 2014-15 season, Giddens will be joining three other four-star recruits when he gets on campus in 2015.

Giddens chose the Buckeyes over Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Indiana and Kansas.
