3. TJ Sorrentine vs. Syracuse
Before Farokmanesh, there was Sorrentine. Apart of the Vermont Catamounts, TJ Sorrentine’s crew had the task to battle Syracuse and Jim Boeheim. With Hakim Warrick and Gerry McNamara, Syracuse was more focused on Sweet 16 plans than Vermont. Sorrentine and company took advantage.
After sending the game to overtime, the two sides battled back and forth. After a three-pointer from Vermont gave them a one-point lead with two minutes remaining, the Catamounts forced a turnover. Sorrentine brought the ball up-court and dribbled the clock out near half-court. With the clock winding down and Syracuse’s zone waiting, Sorrentine pulled up 10-feet behind the arc and sent Gus Johnson into snake-mode.
