College Basketball All-Decade Team of 2000s
By Jacob Rude
PF – Tyler Hansbrough, UNC
Admit it, you hated Tyler Hansbrough. And if you said no, you’re a UNC fan. While not quite to the level of Redick’s nation-wide hatred, Hansbrough was still a polarizing player. However, he did something Redick could not: lead his squad to a national title. Before that trek to a title in his senior season, nearly every award he could have won, he did. He was consensus national player of the year, ACC player of the year, first team All-American, all in 2008. He was the first player in ACC history to be a four-time first-team All American.
Notably, he broke many of the scoring records set by Redick, including becoming the ACC all-time leading scorer (2872), most FGs (939), and 2nd all-time in rebounds for the ACC. As mentioned before, unlike either Redick or Morrison, he was able to help lead the Tar Heels to a title, further cementing his name on this list.
