Emmitt Holt could give Hoosiers desired low-post presence

We talked earlier in the week about the Indiana Hoosiers and Hanner Mosquera-Perea, who will have a pivotal role with the squad this year. Another prime candidate to be an important part of next season is recent commit Emmitt Holt.
Indiana University updated their player roster on Friday. Holt was officially listed 6’7″, 215 pounds, not all that surprising. However, reports out of Bloomington are that Holt is 215 pounds of solid muscle.
"He isn’t the biggest guy around — he’s listed at 6-7, 215 pounds — but word is Holt’s upper body is mature beyond his years, and he should have the bulk to bang with the big boys in the paint.– Ken Bikoff"
While Perea has the size and length you look for in a big man, Holt will bring the strength. He’ll bang around in the paint, forcing big men to go through him.
The Hoosiers aren’t going to have a perfect front-court. However, in an effort to make due with what they have, they’ll use a mish-mash of undersized big men. With Perea, his athleticism can help overcome his lack of height. He can out-leap just about every opponent he’ll face this year.
With Holt, the dynamic will be his size. We know little about Holt considering his late addition to the class, but with the Hoosiers in desperate need of big men, he’ll be forced into a trial by fire.
