2. Karl-Anthony Towns, Center, Kentucky Wildcats

Obviously, Towns and Okafor are going to be 1-2 on this list and just about every list. We saw his per-40 minute stats in the last slide, showing just how dominant Towns has been on the defensive end. His block percentage of 16.3% is one of the best in the nation, while his defensive rating of 65.3 is top on the team and top in the nation.

Towns has also played well on the offensive end, too, but has shown that his game is still raw. However, when you have a raw game and are still one of the best players in the nation, especially on defense, that goes to show how great you are.

He will continue to develop his offensive game as the time goes and he furthers his career. It’s hard to see these top two changing barring a drastic change.

1. Jahlil Okafor, Center, Duke Blue Devils

Okafor is far and away the number one prospect next year, and it has nothing to do with a weak draft class. Okafor is a once in a lifetime talent. He’s as smooth as they come offensively and while he’s average on defense, he’s going to succeed simply because of his massive size.

Since we’re on a kick of comparing per 40-minute stats in this piece, consider what we showed with Cauley-Stein and Towns, then look at Okafor’s stat line:

26.1 points, 13.1 rebounds, 2.4 blocks, 65.5% field goal

That’s why he’s the number one pick. He has a true back-to-the-basket set of moves and has shown his array of moves. He can hit a mid-range jumper, has shown he can use the glass, can spin, can back you down, can hit jump hooks, can dunk, can roll of pick and rolls. There’s not much he can’t do offensively for a big man.
