ACC: Top 5 Must-Watch Conference Games
By Jacob Rude
1. Louisville vs. Duke, January 17
The premier match-up of this ACC season and we hardly have to wait for it. Arguably the two best teams, if not the two most proven teams in the league so far, Duke and Louisville’s first match-up as part of the same conference will be about as big as can be.
The big-time match-up between Okafor and Harrell will be a big determinant in how this game plays out. In terms of a one-on-one defender, this will be Okafor’s biggest challenge of the regular season. While Harrell doesn’t have the size of Okafor, he is supremely athletic and will provide a different challenge for Okafor.
The secondary match-up to watch is Louisville’s perimeter defense against Duke’s perimeter scoring. Terry Rozier and Chris Jones against Quinn Cook, Tyus Jones, and Justise Winslow will have as much of an impact on how this game turns out as the post-game.
Prediction: In the end, while the home court advantage will play a factor, but that didn’t stop the Blue Devils in Wisconsin and I can’t see it affecting them now. Duke edges one out again, 83-77.
