College Basketball: 2014 Year in Review

College basketball delivered an impressive calendar year in 2014. The run of unlikely national title contenders lasted for yet another season, and the NCAA Tournament further solidified its reputation as one of the greatest spectacles in all of sport. College hoops once again introduced us to a new batch of charismatic head coaches on the sideline, and welcomed a fresh crop of future NBA stars taking an exhibition tour through the college game. Th0ugh the game has been modernized to a great degree, the stories and the pageantry that make the game special are still just as riveting as they were when the likes of Wooden and Rupp roamed the college basketball landscape.

As the year winds down, and we prepare to take in all that is in store for us in 2015, let’s take one last look at all the reasons why this year was truly special. It’s finally time to decide who was the best, who could have done more, and who has set themselves up for a monster 2015. The best thing about the end of the year in college basketball is that next year is always better, and flipping the calendar means that March is only three short months away.
