The team trying hardest to tank this year would be the worst fit for Okafor. In fact, if they land the number one pick, I’d be more surprised if they did take him as opposed to leaving him and selecting the next best player available.
In the last two drafts, the 76ers have landed both Joel Embiid and Nerlens Noel, arguably the top centers in both drafts. Neither Noel or Embiid could play the power forward spot and neither could Okafor. In honesty, this is just a really bad fit.
As of right now, the 76ers are 3rd in the lottery and have a 15.6% chance of landing that top pick. If they do so, I’d expect them to either look for a trade first, then select Emmanuel Mudiay if they keep the pick. Either way, Okafor is incredibly unlikely to be in a Sixers jersey next year.
Chance Of Drafting Okafor – 5%
