Busting Brackets March Madness Fantasy 3rd Round

#7 Team Rude at #1 Team Tondamantham

I’m disturbed by the fact that the one team that I entered into this tournament with a personal vendetta against, is the one team that I can’t seem to knock off. Team Rude has yet to meet a team that can exploit their weaknesses on defense, while Towns has proven to be the most dominant force in this tournament.

Cook spent the game marking Pointer, a player that scores points off of hustle plays and in transition. That’s not the type of player that can really take advantage of a barely six-foot off guard. Harrell and Gathers met their match against Towns and the emerging Looney. While Harrell had to match Looney’s speed, Gathers could not stop Towns or Looney, giving Team Rude the ultimate edge.

#3 Team Bennett at #5 Team Sherman

Once again, a game that could have been a championship game is happening in the losers bracket. The marquee individual match-up of the tournament pits Kaminsky against Okafor, and Kaminsky wins in a landslide, taking Okafor away from the basket and leaving limited rim protection behind him.

However, Team Bennett’s guard play proved to be the difference. Haws couldn’t guard anyone, always leaving a mismatch for one of Team Bennett’s guards to take advantage of, and Dekker came up small on the big stage.
