9. (12) Stephen F. Austin vs. (5) Utah, South Region

Why This Upset Will Happen: You won’t find many, if any, teams hotter than the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks. They’ve won nine straight games, but more impressive, 28 of their last 29 games.

Red. Hot.

They have the 9th best offense at 79.5 points a game, lead the nation in assists per games with 17.8 a game, and are fifth in three-point percentage, shooting 49.1% from the field this year. Their 56.4% effective field goal percentage of 56.4% is 8th in the nation, and they play a relatively up-tempo game, averaging 69.7 possessions per game, 63rd most in the nation.

On top of that, Utah is in streaky form. They haven’t won consecutive games since mid-February and haven’t won a game against a team at Stephen F. Austin’s level since beating Wichita State on December 3rd.

Why This Upset Won’t Happen: Well, as is the case with the last game, Delon Wright will be, by far, the best player on the court. While Utah hasn’t played someone like Stephen F. Austin for quite a while, the Lumberjacks haven’t played someone like Wright all season. Wright will be by far the best player on the court and has the ability to carry a team not only past Stephen F. Austin, but deep into the tournament.
