2015 NCAA Tournament: Mascot Madness Bracket!
By Jacob Rude
By this point in the week, I’d imagine you’ve read 30 articles about either picking your 2015 NCAA tournament bracket itself or specific upsets to watch for (shameless plug). However, what you haven’t looked at is a bracket based solely on the mascot of each school. Look no more, we have you covered!
During our podcast following the release of the bracket on Sunday, we hinted a handful of times our great team names and possible Final Four inclusions for a mascot bracket, but never took it much further than that. However, the time is now to dive into this bracket.
First, some rules
- This is purely subjective. I’m using no scientific formula for this. There isn’t any voting. I’m the captain, now.
- Judging will be based largely on originality, with the traditions Wildcats, Tigers, and Bulldogs being nearly guaranteed first-round exits. I don’t care how strong your schedule is or what your RPI was. Those numbers mean nothing to me (and I’m not sure if they mean much to the selection committee).
- There will be no re-seeding of the bracket. I’m not nearly dedicated enough to rank these teams. As a result, it will be upsets galore, but let’s give the small schools and underdogs some love every now and then.
We’ll go region-by-region on this to avoid confusion. Let’s kick it off!
