This past college basketball season, fans of the programs in the Southeastern Conference saw Kentucky and Arkansas manhandle the conference, Florida go from a top 25 team to not mentioned at all, LSU collapse in games after holding a comfortable lead, and Alabama’s offense struggle to find its way without one of its scoring leaders and some of its key role players.

The fans also saw Billy Donovan get his 500th win in Gainesville with a depleted unit, John Calipari’s induction into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, the return of Bruce Pearl, Johnny Jones achieve less with more than enough talent in Baton Rouge and Anthony Grant handed a pink slip for his failure to take the Crimson Tide into the postseason.

The season is over and some people felt the conference had a down year due in part to the Wildcats going 18-0 in conference play and winning the conference tournament crown at ease. This conference saw five teams in this year’s NCAA Tournament, which was an accomplishment compared to the Pac-12 (4), Atlantic 10 (3), Mountain West Conference, American Athletic Conference, Missouri Valley Conference, and West Coast Conference (2).

Let’s look back at how the season went for some of the teams in the SEC.
