The NBA Draft wasn’t as eventful as it has been in years past, but there was no shortage of intrigue and excitement throughout the evening. There was a bit of drama at the top of the board and even a few subtle trades that could eventually pay major dividends for some teams that are focused on taking their next step. A few teams improved immensely, while others may have whiffed on an opportunity to get better, but that’s the story of every draft. Now that the dust has settled, it’s time to take an early look at how each of the 30 first round selections rates on a scale of A-F with our NBA Draft Grades. The picks are being graded on the quality of a selected player, the value of the player based on where he was drafted, and (in terms of a trade) how much a team gave up for the player.
Also, if you didn’t get a chance to watch the draft last night, or if you have it stored in the DVR, check out the NBA Draft Diary that is currently posted on Busting Brackets. It’s worth the read. Adrian Wojnarowski told me it was good three days before I wrote it (if you were on Twitter during the draft, you’ll understand that joke).
