Ohio State’s dominance in the Big Ten during the 2006-07 season overshadows just how good Bo Ryan’s Badgers were in ’06-’07. Wisconsin finished 30-6 behind the help of first team All-American Alando Tucker who put up 19.9 points per game for the Badgers. Tucker would not only lead his team back to the NCAA Tournament, but finished the season as the all time leading scorer in school history.

The ’06-’07 Badgers finished the season #6 in the polls and won their games on the defensive end by holding their opponents under 60 points per game. Keep in mind they did this in a year much different than the grind it out style we saw this past season that got the shot clock rule changed from 35 seconds to 30. Greg Oden, Mike Conley Jr, Kevin Durant, Joakim Noah, and Al Horford were among those drafted with the class of 2007.

Although they were well polished and held an impressive resume, handing the Ohio State Buckeye’s (eventual national runner-up to Florida) their only conference loss on January 9th, and at one point had won 17 straight, the Badgers ended on a low note losing to UNLV in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
