Chaminade College Prep’s Jayson Tatum, who is ESPN’s No.2 recruit for 2016, announced that he will commit to Duke University at the Nike Peach Jam in Augusta, S.C. on Sunday.

The top small forward in the nation was reportedly deciding between Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, and his hometown school Saint Louis before coming to his ultimate decision.

It was love at first sight for Jayson Tatum when he saw the Duke campus according to the Paul Biancardi’s report on ESPN.com.

"“I love the way the program is run and I love the way the academics are set up. My relationships with the Duke coaches were the best, and they made me a priority. They did the best job of recruiting me and have been at almost all my games, and that means a lot. I love Coach K’s passion to coach his players and to coach the game. I examined and watched the interaction between him and his staff, along with the players, and was impressed how hard they played.”"

Duke was the only official visit that Tatum made with unofficial visits being taken to Kentucky and Saint Louis.

At 6-foot-8, 190 pounds, Tatum should be able to play either at two-guard or small forward because of his wing versatility.

Duke is now going to turn their attention to 6-foot-10 power forward prospect Harry Giles, who is ESPN’s No. 1 prospect for 2016, and ESPN’s No.5 prospect, point guard Dennis Smith.
