Four College Basketball Players with the Biggest Shoes to Fill in 2015-2016
One of my favorite things about college basketball every year is the amount of turnover we see in teams. A team could be a final four team one season, and not even make the tournament the next (for example, Kentucky going from national champions to a first round NIT loss in just a year).
A player could be buried on the bench one season, and a star the next. There’s so many players going in and out that there’s a new top team and top player just about every single year. As the stars leave, there are other players that look to fill their shoes. Justin Anderson did an admirable job replacing Joe Harris at Virginia this year, and Monte Morris became one of the best point guards in the Big 12 after Deandre Kane graduated.
There are plenty of players with opportunities like this for the upcoming season. Someone will need to take the aforementioned Justin Anderson’s spot at Virginia, and what about teams like Kentucky, that lost a majority of their rotation players to the NBA Draft?
Thus, here’s four players that have big shoes to fill this year, and that I think are up to the challenge.
