For as awesome as the next two teams are, this one takes the cake as the one I really wish I could have seen play. They really only have two guys that jump out at you, but in 2010-11, both of them were so good that it really doesn’t matter who else you put on the team with them.

Derrick Rose was MVP of the NBA in 2010-11. He posted 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists per game. For those that forget how good he actually was back then, please watch these videos.

Do you remember now? Sure, guys like Steph Curry are tons of fun to watch, but it’s easy to forget just how athletically dominant Rose was. He would drive into four defenders in the paint, disappear, and the ball would just come out of nowhere and somehow find its way into the basket. It was an unprecedented thing, especially for someone of his stature.

  • Pair him with Tyreke Evans, who was coming off a rookie of the year performance in 09-10 in which he averaged 20, 5, and 5, and it’s easy to see why I’m so hyped about this team. I would venture to say that three-point shooting would be an issue for this team, but they would probably never even play in a halfcourt setting. Josh Pastner would have it easy, and team huddles would probably go something like this:

“Tarik, Wesley, Will, all I need you guys to do is grab the ball when the other team misses, and immediately pass the ball to Derrick or Tyreke. That’s all you need to do!”

Because Derrick Rose and Tyreke Evans would have just been that good together.
